Spaceship Zulu has emerged from the Kansas City street art scene as a gritty, street-smart graffiti artist who has successfully crossed over from his street art origins to the gallery circuit. In a few fast-paced years. He has swiftly risen to become one of the top up and coming artist in the Kansas City area. His works range widely in style, but celebrate the new age street art movement happening across the world.
He started doing graffiti in Wichita back in 2005 as a member of Bomb the City Crew (BTC), with EPEK and INC. His art was first inspired by local artists in KC on a trip up to visit friends one weekend, and now his work shows beside some of those same artists he looked up to starting out. He is part of the larger Kansas City underground street art scene. From the start, Zulu used stencils in elements of his works, but by 2013 he had turned fully to the art of stenciling. This came after realizing how much less time it took to complete works utilizing this technique.
